
Paul Johann T. Versula earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance, magna cum laude,
from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, College of Music, where he studied under Prof.
Richelle Rivera. During his time at the university, Johann was an active member of UP Tiklado,
the official organization of the College of Music Keyboard Department, regularly performing in
various recitals.
He has participated in masterclasses conducted by renowned pianists, including International
Steinway Artist Joseph Maurice Weder, London-based Filipino piano scholar Ma. Regina
Montesclaros, and Polish pianist Jerzy Maciejewski. Johann has also performed at various
venues, including Steinway Boutique Manila (both as part of a group and as a solo featured
artist) and Paco Park Presents: Lyric of Love, a special concert celebrating the 44th anniversary
of the historic Paco Park. He also won 2nd place in the 2025 Kayserberg International Youth
Piano Competition, Philippine Finals, and 3rd place at the 2025 National Music Competition of
Young Artists, Senior Piano category.
Now that he has graduated, Johann is working part-time as a piano teacher at the University of
the Philippines Extension Program and The Music Classroom in Quezon City. While doing so,
he is also continuing his musical development under the guidance of concert pianist and
Assistant Professor at the UP College of Music, Dr. Clement Acevedo, in preparation for further
studies.
